Cloud9 today announces the departure of Robin Flusha Rönnquist, as well as the return of Maikil Golden Selim to competitive play for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

We want to express tremendous gratitude towards Flusha for his exceptional play and leadership over these past few months. As he steps away from the game for the time being, we wish him only the best and are grateful to have been a part of his storied, one-of-a-kind career to date.

My time with Cloud9 has come to an end, it has been a great experience all around. Even though it had its challenges, this time of my life is something I will always value highly. I want to give thanks to all of the Cloud9 management, but most of all to Tim, Will, Soham and Jonathan. I hope the team finds all the success I know that they are able to achieve, and I want to thank the team for being some of the best teammates I’ve ever had!

Cloud9 is also thrilled to welcome back Golden to competitive play. Having missed playing time since November due to a health condition, Golden has now passed all medical checks and will resume play effective immediately.

Thank you to Cloud9 and my teammates who stuck around for me until I was healthy again, I’m forever grateful. I am going to do my best to make this team one of the best in the entire scene with my return.

Maikil Golden Selim

Flusha is a one-of-a-kind player and it’s been an incredible opportunity working with him, he’s done so much for the sport. We’re also thrilled to get Golden back, I don’t think anyone is more excited than Golden himself, so we’re looking forward to putting on a strong showing the next time out.
