Cloud9 CS:GO Sign flusha, Release STYKO

By John Nomis | |

We at Cloud9 are excited to welcome the newest member of our Counterstrike: Global Offensive roster, Robin flusha Rönnquist! flusha is one of the most successful players in history, having been in the competitive CS:GO circuit since 2012, and we’re all thrilled to welcome him to the Cloud9 family.

The wealth of experience he brings is almost unparalleled, having this year alone helped Fnatic to championships at WESG 2017 and the IEM XII - World Championship. But it is 2015 that stands out as a year every pro hopes to achieve one day, as flusha helped lead Fnatic to two Major championships, at ESL One: Cologne 2015 and ESL One: Katowice 2015, as well as championships in ESL ESEA Pro League Season 1 and Season 2. The three-time major winner has built a legacy to stand the test of time, and we can’t wait to see him build upon it with Cloud9!

“Joining Cloud9 is one of those opportunities in life that just felt right for me to pursue. Getting to play with hungry players that want to achieve what I once achieved is a big motivator, because I am not done yet. I hope to bring a lot of experience to this talented and young group of players, and I’m looking forward to getting to know the team better as well. Bringing us onto a winning path will follow from there!”
— Robin "flusha" Rönnquist
“flusha is an absolute legend, and I’m thrilled we’re getting a chance to work with him. The work ethic he has needed to sustain success at the highest level is going to be a great fit for our roster and organization. Can’t wait to see him in action. Welcome to Cloud9!”
— Jack Etienne, Cloud9 CEO & Owner

With this move, Cloud9 also announces the release of Martin STYKO Styk. STYKO has been an incredible teammate since he joined via loan in July and his presence will be missed. We wish him only the best on the next stage of his career.

“Despite my short adventure under the Cloud9 banner, I have to say I will remember it for a long time. It was an experience that doesn’t come often, and I tried to be as good as I could. Unfortunately, our results were rather underwhelming with me being on the team, so I completely understand the decision the team made. I wish them the best of luck moving forward! Hope to see you soon, friends!”
— Martin "STYKO" Styk
“We’re really going to miss STYKO and the support he brought to this team. His commitment to his teammates and his optimistic attitude are benchmarks every player should strive for and every organization would be lucky to have. We will all follow his career closely and know that success is soon to come.”
— Jack Etienne, Cloud9 CEO & Owner

The CS:GO team heads to Istanbul next, for BLAST Pro Series: Istanbul 2018, and you’ll be able to see flusha in action with Cloud9 starting September 28!
